4) Interestingly enough technology has been replacing jobs of workers since the stat of the industrial revolution, this is nothing new. Yes, this particular jobs at the sweatshops will be lost, but new jobs will arise, like the jobs at the places were those machines are being built, and people who repair these machines. the grand total of jobs being lost is not many due to the fact that more jobs will arise. Also its of the benefit of the worker, sweatshops (especially in other countries outside the U.S) have bad working conditions and therefore replacing the people with machines will take them OUT of this bad enviornment make this switch better for the society as an individual and as a whole.
6) Socrates has an interesting theory, when i say interesting i mean completely far fetched, i believe that he said that because HE himself was illiterate and wanted in some way to justify it. Being illiterate is one thing, using the computer is another. Computers are here for out benefit, and they in no way WEAKEN the child's mind, that's not to say that it doesn't weaken their spelling skills or penmanship. i think that yes maybe now children are becoming TOO dependant on computers to do simple tasks and calculators in particular, but i don't feel that they should be eradicated because there are there to fix basic human error so we can better ourselves and our work.
11) The use of the computer in school and education is a new thing. for me, its relatively new, just recently (the start of high school) have i been using the computer for school work. before a lot of my work was hand written, and research was done at the library. but i still think that the Internet and the computers are still very useful resources and we should take advantage of them, we may be weakening in some skills but increasing abilities in others.
12) one of the amazing things of computers is its acicability to virtually every country and state in the world. which makes it much easier to contact family living in a different state or country.it connects the family in that way yet separates them in another, you see a lot of people namely children have grown an unhealthy attachment to the computer, they seem to always bee on it, so it sort of breaks the ties of the family. so in that way its bad.
13) creativity isn't "Created" per say, rather its a nature of the artist. a computer wont make anyone more creative then they already are, it might bring out a different creative light, but it doesn't MAKE them more creative. Its not the paint brush and canvas that make a painter "creative" but rather its his artistic touch. the same goes for computers, its not the creative software that makes people "Creative" its their own artistic flair.
