Answer the questions December 8

What are the four basic functions of a computer?
-receive input, process information, produce output, store information

What does CPU stand for?
-Central processing unit

Explain what a bit is.
- a bit (binary digit) is the smallest unit of info and computer can read.

Name two codes used to convert words, etc. into bits.
-one code is known as the ASCII (American Standard Code for information interchange)
-Unicode this one is used to compute different languages as well.

Why is information's stored in some kind of binary format in computers?
-because computers cant understand numbers pictures and words, the computer cant process info without dividing it into smaller units which are known as bits.
